Joseph P. Hart, Associate

He spent 5 years representing U.S. Military personnel in criminal actions before Courts Martial throughout Germany. From 1980 to 1984, Mr. Hart was responsible for defense of major litigation matters against the District of Columbia and its Agencies within the Office of the Corporation Counsel for the District of Columbia, Washington, DC. He served as Assistant Corporation Counsel; Prosecutor, Criminal Division; and within the General Litigation Division. Four years later, he became partner in Glassie, Pewitt, Dudley, Beebe & Shanks, Washington, DC, where, for 4 years he developed a personal injury/negligence practice.
His own law office of Joseph P. Hart, Washington, DC, began in 1989 where he handled civil and criminal cases for 8 years. His primary focus was on personal injury, police brutality and general litigation matters against the District of Columbia and its Agencies. In 1997, Mr. Hart joined Alexander and Cleaver, Fort Washington and Annapolis, MD, as a litigator on their personal injury team. He was responsible for the development, settlement and trial of all personal injury cases in the District of Columbia and Maryland.
He joined the law firm of Meng & Alpert, LLC in mid 2007.
